Eagles' Middle To Migrate North In 2017 To Join Women's Volleyball

After a long list of great performances in January, Women's Volleyball is pleased to announce the commitment of Andi Jacobs for the 2017-18 MCAC season. A 6'0 middle attacker, Jacobs comes to CMU from Hilton Head Island in South Carolina where she captained her high school, Hilton Head Christian Academy, in both her junior and senior years.

Jacobs led the Eagles to the 2015 State Semifinals and earned selection to the South Carolina All-State South Team in 2016 while posting 149 kills over 98 sets and a kill percentage of 45.0%, playing as a right side.

"Andi is a great fit for our program," said head coach Evelyn Kampen, "she has been successful in her volleyball career and has maintained excellent grades while captaining her team at Hilton Head. She is a strong leader with a lot of athletic talent. We're thrilled to welcome her to the Blazers!"

Jacobs plays club volleyball with Sharks Volleyball in South Carolina, where she has also served as team captain in 2014 and 2015.

Women's Volleyball is preparing to lock horns with the Providence Pilots in Otterburne on Friday night before returning to the Loewen on Saturday night for a match up with the University of Winnipeg College Wesmen. The Blazers hold a record of 13-4 through 17 matches with three matches remaining in their 2016-17 regular season. The 2017 MCAC Final Fours are scheduled to be hosted at Universite de St-Boniface on February 25-26.
