Winman's Provincial All-Star Power Signs Letter of Intent With CMU Blazers

Men's Volleyball is very happy to announce the signing of Linden Christian's Carter Hofer for the 2017-18 MCAC Season. The physical 6'3 left-side attacker comes to CMU with an extensive resume of successes at the high school and club level.

The Linden Wings reached new heights in Hofer's Grade 12 season when the traditionally 'AAA' team tackled the Manitoba High School's 'AAAA' Boys division. Entering as 'AAAA' Provincials as the #6-ranked team, the Wings advanced through a round to the quarterfinals.

Hofer was ranked #10 by The Winnipeg Sun in their annual Top 10 Honour Roll of the 2016 Manitoba High School players where he was attributed to be, "a strong attacker and defender, great all-around skill and very physical player" and was also selected as a 2017 Manitoba Volleyball 'AAAA' Graduating All-Star.

CMU head coach Don Dulder echoes The Winnipeg Sun's description of Hofer and what he will bring to the Blazer's rotation next season, "Carter is an excellent passer, attacker and backrow player. He is very intelligent and he will fit right in with our current team. I am extremely pleased to have him on board."

Hofer had an excellent final season with and his 18u club team, Winman Legacy. After Winman advanced to the Provincial Championships Final, the 6'3 left side was recognized as a Provincial All-Star. His team went on to take home National Tier 2 Silver Medals in Saskatoon last month.

The multi-sport athlete also excelled on the ice for the Wings in his Grade 12 season. The blueliner was awarded the 2017 Price Division Playoff Most Valuable Player.

Men's Volleyball begins their defense of the MCAC Championship on October 27th when they travel to Otterburne to take on the Providence Pilots. The first home action for the Blazers is November 4th when CMU hosts the Red River Rebels.

CMU begins their preseason on October 12th in Toronto, facing off with the OCAA's best at the Seneca Sting Challenge.
