Men's Soccer Welcomes Centre Forward With Familiar Name

Men's Soccer is pleased to receive the commitment of Parkhill, Ontario's Caleb Jutzi for the fast-approaching MCAC season. In his first full year of senior men's play in the Western Ontario Soccer League, the 6'2 target man has collected 8 goals through 10 matches for the Taxandria Falcons where he has been splitting his availability with the club's 3rd and 4th Division teams.

"Caleb is a big physical player who is determined to turn and run at defenders," said former CMU head coach Russell Willms who announced his plans to step down from his coaching position last month. "I really like what I've seen of Caleb in his video footage and think that he will become a really important piece of the team's success next year and in future seasons. When you put his physical tools and hunger to score together, you get a player that is going to be a big challenge to stop."

"Jutzi" is a name familiar to anyone who has followed CMU men's soccer in recent years. Caleb's older brother Justin is entering his fourth season with the MCAC program. The eldest Jutzi was a regular part in the Blazers starting eleven in the 2017 season, frequently featuring as a right fullback for his team and having the versatility and composure to shift inside as a central defender.

"Part of the excitement of having Caleb's commitment to us is because of the solid player that Justin has become in his first three seasons with our team," added Willms, "Justin is a great teammate and is extremely coachable and easy to play with. Justin has emerged a little more each season and he just keeps getting better as a player and growing into more of a leader for us, on and off the field."

Recently released, Men's Soccer will open their 2018 MCAC regular season schedule at The Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex on September 9th, wearing their home shirts against the USB Rouges; winners of the past four consecutive MCAC Championships. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15pm.
