Ramshaw Joins CMU’s Quest

The CMU women’s volleyball team will certainly be on a mission this season. After three consecutive conference championships, the Blazers fell last March in a heart-breaking five-set, gold-medal marathon and enter 2011 with eyes fixed on redemption.

Local Kelvin High School product Nicole Ramshaw hopes to be a new piece of a championship puzzle. The 5-11 middle blocker has signed on to join the Blazers this fall and with the loss of middle Kirsten Hamm who graduated in April, CMU head coach Andrea Charbonneau expects Ramshaw to make an immediate contribution.  “Nicole has a bright future on the volleyball court,” says Charbonneau, “we will be looking for her to be consistent in the middle, providing dominant blocking, hitting and serving.”

Ramshaw plays club volleyball locally with Rebels Volleyball Club.

The CMU women’s volleyball team opens their season on home court September 23 & 24 in the first-annual CMU Challenge Cup.
