Hawks Midfielder Lands at CMU

The CMU men’s soccer team is very happy to announce the commitment of midfielder Simon Dueck for the upcoming season. A graduate of MBCI, Dueck was the consummate leader on the field for the Hawks in defense and attack. He was recognized with the MBCI coaches award for boys soccer in his Grade 12 year.

“Simon is the kind of player that every coach looks for,” explains CMU head coach Russell Willms, “he has a great engine that will allow him to get from box to box on the field and he seems to always be around the ball.”

Dueck’s passion and understanding of the game was heightened when he participated in an school exchange to Bechterdissen, Germany, just east of Bielefeld in Grade 11.

A natural athlete, Dueck also participated in varsity basketball, track and ran cross-country while at MBCI. He plans to study towards a degree in Science at CMU.
