Coach Coss Helps Manitoba To A National Medal

It has been nine long years since a Manitoba under-15 boys basketball team has achieved something great at a National Tournament. This past weekend at Toronto’s Humber College, CMU head coach Darcy Coss was part of a coaching staff that did just that – arriving at Richardson Airport with bronze medals proudly displayed.

Manitoba posted a 2-1 preliminary round record, with wins over Newfoundland and Quebec and a loss to the always dominant Ontario team. After a semi-final loss to British Columbia, the Manitobans found themselves in a showdown with Quebec for the Bronze Medal and pulled through with a 63-54 win.

Ben Miller, brother of current CMU guard Jacob Miller and former CMU forward Nick Miller, scored 14 points in the bronze medal game and was later selected First-Team All-Canadian.

Coach Coss and the Blazers tip-off their 2011 preseason in Edmonton September 29th against King’s University College.
