Preparing to Tackle Thunder Bay

The CMU men’s and women’s soccer teams will take part in their final tune-up before departing for Thunder Bay, Ontario tomorrow morning and the SportTop Invitational Soccer Tournament.

Coming off consecutive MCAC losses last weekend, the CMU men are looking to rebound and regroup. The Blazers kick-off with Lakehead University at noon on Saturday and play Confederation College on Sunday afternoon.

The CMU women dropped their first match of the season last Sunday away to Providence University College and will also look to get back on track. For the first time this season, forward Maraleigh Short was held off the scoresheet in the weekend loss. The fourth-year from Rivers, Manitoba hopes to get back on track with a positive performance in Thunder Bay.

The Blazer women take on Confederation College on Saturday morning at 10 am and face Lakehead University on Sunday. The next home action for CMU is Wednesday, October 5th when they host the University of Winnipeg at 6 PM and 8 PM at the John Scouras Field at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex. The Wesmen sit atop the table with both their men’s and women’s teams. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors.
