Blazers Fall By Four To College Wesmen

Second-year guard Jacob Miller scored a career-high 35 points on Saturday evening in a narrow loss to the University of Winnipeg College Wesmen 89-93 at the Duckworth Centre. The graduate of Westgate Mennonite Collegiate drained six 3-pointers and shot an amazing 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.

Not to be outdone, second-year center Wyatt Anders finished with 24 points and pounded the glass for 15 rebounds. The 6’7 former Sturgeon Heights Husky was also perfect from the line, counting 12 baskets in 12 attempts from the foul line.

The loss drops the Blazers to 0-2 in the young MCAC season. CMU travels to Bottineau, North Dakota this weekend to compete in the Kevin Thom Classic on Friday and Saturday. The next MCAC action for the Blazers is scheduled for Friday, November 11th at Assinboine Community College in Brandon with their first conference home game falling on November 12th against ACC at 4 PM.
