CMU Topped By Providence on Home Court

Todd Reimer scored 9 kills over four sets for CMU on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t enough as the Freemen handed the Blazers their second home court loss of the season, 3-1 (25-14, 17-25, 25-16, 25-20).

A bright point for CMU in the match was the emergence of first-year left-side Rodger Toews as a secondary scorer. The 6’5 native of Paraguay collected 6 kills in the match, while fourth-year middle Josh Krueger also added 6 kills and 4 stuff blocks for the Blazers.

The CMU men serve-0ff at the Universite de St-Boniface on Tuesday evening in their next MCAC match against the improving Voyageurs at 8 PM. USB handed Assiniboine Community College their third and fourth conference losses of the season last weekend and all the early talk surrounding MCAC men’s volleyball suggests that the Voyageurs will be a strong challenger for the Championship this season.
