Blazers Continue to Pound-Out Wins

The CMU women’s volleyball team made it 9 wins in a row on Thursday night slipping by the Providence Freemen 3-1 (29-27, 20-25, 25-18, 27-25) in Otterburne.

Fifth-year left-side Evelyn Kampen, who has been the top scorer in each match thus far for the Blazers, kept her foot on the pedal amassing 24 kills in the victory. She added 2 solo stuff-blocks, 2 aces and 7 digs to her monstrous stat-line.

The first-year product of J.H. Bruns Collegiate, Taylor Bain, pounded 7 kills in support and middle-blocker Breanne Giesbrecht recorded a steady 7 kills and 5 stuff-blocks over the 4-set match.

CMU will look to continue their hot play next week when they host Red River College on Tuesday night. Match times are scheduled for 6 and 8 PM.
