Dynamic Duo Lead Blazers to Exciting Win

It was “Miller Time” on Friday night at the Loewen as the brother tandem combined for 56 points on way to a 93-84 win, and their sixth-consecutive conference win, in front of a raucous home crowd.

Younger brother Jacob Miller was the Blazers top-man registering a game-high 31 points that included 6-for-11 shooting from beyond the 3-point line, highlighted by a bomb that took back momentum for the home team after the Rebels drew level late in the third quarter.

The game marked the official return to the Blazers lineup for older brother Nick Miller, who spent the last two seasons running the court for the Manitoba Bisons in the CIS. The elder-Miller did not disappoint, dropping 25 points that included 4-of-5 shooting from long-range and an exciting 4-point play late early in the second quarter.

Mike Hebert was the top-scorer for the Rebels with 30 points and was arguably the most-effective big-man in the game grabbing 11 rebounds on the night and getting to the free-throw line on 11 occasions.

The home win allows the Blazers to keep pace with the University of Winnipeg who moved to 7-1 after downing Assiniboine by 20-points in Brandon on Friday night. CMU and the College Wesmen are scheduled to meet for the first time in 2012 on January 28th at CMU.
