Letkeman Enters CMU Soccer Squad

The CMU men’s soccer team is very pleased to announce the addition of Andrew Letkeman for the upcoming 2012 MCAC season. The talented midfielder capped his high school soccer career at Steinbach Regional in 2010 with a MHSAA rural high school championship where he was selected tournament Most Valuable Player. Andrew played his club football for the Hanover Kickers of the Manitoba Major Soccer League’s Premier Second Division until 2011 and plans to join Scotia United (also of the MMSL-Premier 2) later this summer.

“Andrew’s attacking prowess, quality and confidence will be a great addition to us this season,” said CMU head coach Russell Willms, “His personality really shines through in his play. Andrew will prove to be a delight to watch and we are very happy to have him here.”

Letkeman and CMU will kick-off their 2012 preseason on Sunday, September 2nd when they host Medicine Hat College of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference at the John Scouras Field of the Winnipeg Soccer Complex. The Rattlers finished in top-spot in Alberta’s south conference in 2011 with an undefeated record of 6-4-0 and should be a massive challenge for the up-start Blazers in their historic first-ever match against CCAA competition.

Watch for more announcement of incoming CMU athletes coming throughout the spring and summer months.
