Men’s Soccer Sign Speedy Striker Mizuno

The CMU men’s soccer team is very pleased to announce the addition of striker Takuro Mizuno. The speedy goal-scorer is a product of Winnipeg’s South End United where he played premier youth from under-14 to under-18. Mizuno represented Manitoba with South End at the 2009 Canadian National Championships, scoring our province’s lone goal in a 5-1 loss to Ontario in the bronze medal match.

Mizuno has also been a Manitoba provincial team selection from u-14 to u-16 and currently fills the goal for Manitoba Major Soccer League One side, Celtic FC.

“We are very happy to have Taku join our program this year,” states CMU head coach Russell Willms, “he is an excellent technical player who has a knack for scoring goals, he has a great attitude and it is evident by the way he plays that he enjoys the game.”

Mizuno will help lead the Blazers into the 2012 season on September 2nd when CMU hosts the Medicine Hat Rattlers, undefeated in the 2011 Alberta College’s Conference, on home turf at the John Scouras Field of the Winnipeg Soccer Complex. Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm.
