Kelvin’s All-Manitoban Joins CMU

The CMU men’s basketball team is very pleased to announce the commitment of Kelvin High School big-man Stephen Jones for the upcoming season.

Amongst the best posts in the province in his Grade 12 year, Jones helped the Clippers to the MHSAA ‘AAAA’ Final Four last March, losing in the semi-finals to the eventual champions from Garden City. At 6’5, Jones averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds en route to a Graduating All-Star selection and All-Manitoba honors in 2012.

“Stephen was one of Winnipeg’s best big men in high school last year. He is a special talent,” comments CMU head coach Darcy Coss,  “I am very excited to have the opportunity to coach a player of his caliber and to have him as a CMU student-athlete.”

Jones and the Blazers will tip-off their 2012 preseason with a Pacific-coast tour beginning in Surrey against Kwantlen College on September 27th and ending in Victoria against Camosun College on September 30th.
