Selkirk’s Sutherland Joins Blazers Hoops

The CMU women’s basketball team is very pleased to announce the commitment of Lord Selkirk’s Hollie Sutherland for the upcoming season. The 5’5 guard paced the Royals with 13 points per game in the competitive K-PAC division of the MHSAA.

Sutherland was a consistent perimeter scoring threat in her Grade 12 year. “Hollie is a calm presence on the floor and isn’t easily taken off her game,” said former CMU women’s head coach Christie Anne McCullough, who was influential in helping Sutherland choose CMU, “She will help the team on the offensive end for sure, but she also hits the floor for loose balls and plays defense with a strong desire.”

Sutherland and the Blazers will welcome Brandon University, Red River College and Briercrest College to the Loewen Athletic Centre, October 11-13 as part of the third-annual Holiday Inn Airport-West Invitational to open their competitive preseason.
