Celtics Guard Joins Women’s Basketball

IMG_6677New Women’s Basketball coach Joe Di Curzio is very happy to announce the commitment of St-Norbert Collegiate’s Carole Dupuis for the upcoming 2013-14 season. The energetic 5’3 guard powered the Celtics to a MHSAA Zone Championship earlier this year and into the 2013 ‘AAA’ Provincials where Dupuis and St-Norbert advanced to the Consolation Final hosted at St. James Collegiate.

“Carole is a terrific, young talent,” says Di Curzio, “she can really play the up-tempo game and that will really fit into our style of play this season.”

Dupuis was selected team MVP at the JV level in 2010 at St-Norbert and displayed her well-rounded athleticism on the volleyball court this season as well, being recognized as the Most Improved Player on her varsity team. On top of basketball and volleyball, Dupuis was recognized in her Grade 12 year by St-Norbert Collegiate with the Colin Hocking Award for her outstanding play on the soccer field.

Dupuis and the Blazers open their 2013 Women’s Basketball exhibition preseason schedule at home to the Providence Lady Freemen on September 27th as part of CMU’s list of Fall Festival events.
