Branching Out To Add A Proud Oak

Ben ShantzThe CMU Men’s Basketball Team is very happy to announce the commitment of London, Ontario’s Ben Shantz for the 2013-14 season. The 6’4 product of  Oakridge Secondary School comes to the Blazers with high praise from his new head  coach, Billy Isaac. “Ben is a very strong with the ball and is able to drive either direction or pull-up from deep,” says Isaac, “I expect him to make an immediate impact on the floor for us.”

In his final year with the Oaks, Shantz received the prestigious Ted Earley Award for Outstanding Play in Basketball, Academics and Community Service. Along the way, Shantz averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds for Oakridge.

Shantz and the Blazers will hold Open Tryouts on Wednesday, September 4th from 8-10pm and Friday, September 6th from 9-11pm.
