MacKay was hot right from the tip for the Blazers, knocking down 10 of her game-high 14 points in the opening half, helping CMU to a 10-point lead at the break. Dupuis and third-year guard Hannah Prowse powered the team down the stretch. Dupuis scored 8 of her 13 points in the second half, while Prowse iced the game for the Blazers with 7 of her 11 points in the fourth quarter.

CMU will take many positives from the preseason win as their second weekend approaches quickly. The Blazers leave Wednesday afternoon for Edmonton where they will tip-off with the Grand Prairie Wolves, St. Mary’s Lightning and King’s Eagles in the Alberta Showcase Tournament, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The next home game for the Blazers is Friday, October 11th, when CMU hosts the Briercrest Clippers in their final preseason home game at 6 pm.
