Class of 2014 Starts With Gophers Guard

The CMU Women's Basketball team is very pleased to announce the commitment of Garden City Collegiate point guard Jessica Larabie for the 2014-15 Season. The 5'6 perimeter scorer is averaging 15-plus points and 5 assists per game in her graduating year with the Fighting Gophers in the always competitive MHSAA 'AAAA' KPAC division.

"Jessica brings us natural scoring ability," says head coach Joe Di Curzio, who is just completing his first season at the helm of the Women's Basketball Program, "She is an awesome three-point shooter and she is just as comfortable taking the ball to the hoop."

Larabie is averaging 3-plus baskets from long-range this season, and continues to develop this part of her game. "She is an extremely hard worker who is very dedicated to improving her game, plus she has a very high basketball IQ", Di Curzio adds.

Larabie has led the Fighting Gophers to consecutive KPAC Finals since 2011 and was selected as an MHSAA 'AAAA' All-Star in her grade 11 year.

The next action for the CMU Women's Basketball Team is in Otterburne this weekend, when the Blazers tip-off with the Providence Pilots at 6pm.
