Niverville Right Side Joins CMU Attack

The CMU Men's Volleyball Team is very happy to announce the commitment of Niverville Collegiate Opposite, Jonathan Daman, to the program for the 2014-15 MCAC Season.

The athletic 6'3 right-side attacker, was recently recognized by Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association with the Dr. Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Scholarship, for athletic excellence combined with community leadership.

In his grade 11 year, the Panthers captured gold at the 2012 MHSAA 'AA' Provincials. Captaining the team this past year, Daman helped Niverville to a third-place finish at Provincials last November.

"Jon is a well-rounded player and student-athlete," says CMU Head Coach Mark Kliewer, "He will be a great fit for our program and we look forward to having him on our team in the years to come."

The CMU Men's Volleyball Team surged forward in 2013-14, becoming a legitimate MCAC Championship contender. The young squad finished with a record of 11-9, narrowly missing a berth in the Championship Final and boasting a large group of returnees and solid recruits like Daman, the outlook for 2014-15 appears very positive for the Blazers.
