Blazers Take to the Skies in Toronto

The CMU Women's and Men's Volleyball Teams get their final taste of the pre-season this weekend in the Greater Toronto Area where the women will compete in the Wannamaker Invitationa at Sheridan College in Oakville, and the men will take to the court at Seneca College in Markham for the Sting Challenge.

The women will face the Conestoga Condors and the Fleming Knights on Friday, and the Durham Lords and Mohawk Mountaineers in round-robin play before playoffs on Saturday.  The men's team faces Niagara Knights and University of Ottawa Gee Gees on Friday, before finishing round-robin play against Durham on Saturday prior to playoffs.  "I've found this tournament to be a great primer for the MCAC season," says Joshua Ewert, the third-year Assistant Coach on the men's team and former Blazer, "as a player I found it refreshing to get away from the typical league competition; it really forces us to bring up our level of play."

The volleyball teams get their first taste of the 2014-15 MCAC Regular Season against the Red River Rebels, October 25th at 6pm (women) and 8pm (men) at Red River's Notre Dame Campus.
