Women's Basketball Inks Fort Richmond Point Guard

The CMU Women's Basketball team is pleased to announce the commitment of Fort Richmond Collegiate's Mobina Mosallat for the 2015-16 season. A 5'2 point guard who is blessed with elite quickness, Mosallat is sure to be a favourite for Blazer fans next season when she pushes the ball up the court on the fast break and causes havoc for CMU's opponents on the defensive end.

"Mobina is a really exciting player who can definitely change the tempo of the game for us," said CMU Women's Basketball Head Coach Joe di Curzio.

Mosallat had a tournament Most Valuable Player performance earlier this season for the Centurions when Fort Richmond won the St. Mary's Academy Tournament. She was also selected a Tournament All-Star in her Grade 12 year for her outstanding play at the Miles Macdonell Tournament.

"Mobina is a real threat on the court," added Di Curzio, " she can pull up and nail a jump shot, put it on the floor and take it to the basket or draw a defender and dish the ball to a teammate for an easy score."

In her Grade 11 season at Fort Richmond, Mosallat was honoured with the Girl's Basketball co-MVP award which she shared with Amber Harms who recently completed a solid rookie campaign in the MCAC with the Providence Pilots.

The Centurions finished fifth in the WWAC (West Winnipeg Athletic Conference), qualifying for the 2015 MHSAA 'AAAA' Provincial Championship but were recently eliminated in the round of twelve.
