Town Leads CMU As MCAC Announces 2016 All-Conference Team

As the 2015-16 MCAC Volleyball season focusses for its final weekend of competition, the conference has announced it's selection of the Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team and not be be overlooked in CMU's rookie middle blocker Kim Town.

Town led her team to a much improved record of 8-12, good for a fourth-place finish and a trip back to the MCAC Final Fours after the Blazers missed out on the 2015 Playoffs. The 6'1 native of southern Ontario burst into the CMU rotation this season, leading her team in service aces and stuff blocks and providing leadership and energy to an improving roster.

"Kim is very worthy of this selection and deserve recognition for a great first season," said CMU head coach Evelyn Kampen, "she is a high-energy player and her teammates feed off of her confidence on the court."

Joining Town on the 2016 All-Conference team are three members of the #2 ranked Providence Pilots (16-4); LaRae Penner, Shayna Staerk and Sam Bridle, two members of the #1 ranked University of Winnipeg College Wesmen (18-2); Talia Paestch and Jocelyn Bartos and the 2016 Most Valuable Player from the #3 ACC Cougars (12-8) Brooke Huculak.

Town leads CMU into a women's semifinal meeting with the top-ranked College Wesmen on Saturday at noon in Otterburne, Manitoba where Providence Unversity College plays host to the 2016 MCAC Final Fours.
