A Roster Addition As The Women's Volleyball Season Approaches Fast

With university classes beginning in just over two weeks, the CMU Women's Volleyball team is very pleased to announce the signing of Niverville Collegiate's Kyla Fast for the 2016-17 MCAC season. A 5'7 setter, Fast is also a very capable defensive player who can help the Blazers out in the back row this season.

Fast helped the Panthers to a solid 2015 season in her Grade 12 year that included a fourth place finish in the Manitoba High School 'AA' Girls provincials, a run of four consecutive tournament wins and a second place finish in her 2015 Zone Championships. For her outstanding play and leadership, Fast was selected as a Volleyball Manitoba 'A-AAA' Graduating All-star.

"I am excited that Kyla has accepted a position on our team," said Women's Volleyball Head Coach Evelyn Kampen, "she demonstrated strong athleticism at our ID camps in the spring. Kyla fits well with our program and I look forward to seeing her contributions both as as setter and a libero."

The Niverville Collegiate product will also be very familiar with at least one home gym in the MCAC. As a member of the Pilots u18 girls club volleyball program based out of Providence University College in Otterburne, Fast's team finished fourth in the 2016 Provincials and also finished fourth at the 2016 National Championships at the Tier 2 level in Edmonton.

Fast and her Women's Volleyball teammates are scheduled to begin their 2016-17 preseason in Otterburne at the Providence Invitational and will be travelling to Ontario October 13th for exhibition action against the Mohawk Mountaineers and the Wannamaker Invitational at Sheridan College in Oakville.
