Makoy Penner: November's CMU Blazers Men's Athlete Of The Month

Congratulations to Makoy Penner of Men's Volleyball on being selected the CMU Blazers Men's Athlete Of The Month for November. The 6'4" middle attacker had his Blazers firing on all cylinders this month and are riding a six match winning streak as they prepare to lock horns with the only team that has managed a win against the defending MCAC Champions, the undefeated Providence Pilots.

Penner recorded 9 kills on 12 attempts with only 1 error in a straight sets win on November 4th against Red River and pounded 11 kills on 14 attempts in a straight sets win over the ACC Cougars on November 11th. In total, the Dakota Lancers product totalled 40 kills with only 9 errors on 72 attempts for a hitting percentage of 43.1% while adding 10 solo blocks in five matches.

"Makoy continues to be great for us," said Dulder "he has been a stabilizing force on the offensive side. Because he plays our middle one position, he is tasked with more of an offensive role and Makoy's numbers speak for themselves. He has been a really efficient scorer."

Penner and the Blazers complete the first half of their 2017-18 schedule Friday night against the Pilots on home court at 7:30pm. CMU travels to southern Ontario from January 4th to 7th to take on the OCAA's best with action againt the CCAA's #2 ranked Georgian Grizzlies as the feature match.
