Jaden Harms: January's CMU Blazers Male Athlete Of The Month

Congratulations to Jaden Harms of Men's Basketball on being selected the CMU Blazers Male Athlete of the Month for January. The second year guard led CMU to four NIAC wins and two critical MCAC wins over Providence and Red River to ensure that the Blazers will be one of the two teams competing on February 10th in Otterburne for the 2018 MCAC Championship.

Harms averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds over his final four games of the January NIAC schedule; a win and loss in Bemidji against the Oak Hills Wolfpack and a win and a loss in Belcourt last weekend against the Turtle Mountain Mighty Mikinocks, where he scored 18 points on only 6 attempts from the field. Over the month, the Fort Richmond Collegiate product averaged 15 points and 7.6 rebounds per game and currently sits ninth among all MCAC scorers with 14 points per game.

"Jaden has been terrific on the offensive boards and attacking the rim all season for us," said Men's Basketball head coach Billy Isaac, "He has quietly been an example to many of the rookies on our team with his consistent play and work ethic."

Harms and his teammates complete their NIAC regular season schedule this weekend with their final home games coming Friday and Saturday against NIAC newcomers, the Sisseton-Wahpeton Mustangs from South Dakota. The Mustangs are thriving in their first season of conference affiliation, currently sitting in second place with a 6-1 record. Harms' fourth year teammates, Matt Warkentin and Jordan Neufeld will be recognized before Friday night's tip-off for their contribution to the Men's Basketball Program. Both seniors are registered to graduate from CMU in April 2018.
