Another Key Signing For Men's Soccer; Former Bonivital Defender

Men's Soccer is thrilled to announce the commitment of Bonivital Soccer Club and Focus 9 Academy product, Will Anderson for the 2018 Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference Season.

"Will is a really valuable player to be bringing into our team," said head coach Russell Willms who just returned from the 2018 Futsal Canadian Championships in Kingston, Ontario where he, along with CMU players Stefan Schuler and Robbie Friesen who were representing Manitoba with Rovers Futsal Club. "Will is a well-balanced and tidy player. He can be plugged into a number of different places in our starting lineup and is versatile to perform in the midfield or in any fullback position. He has been part of winning teams at Fort Richmond Collegiate and Bonivital and he will help us build on our totals and expectations from the 2017 season."

Anderson and the Bonivital under-18 boys finished 4th at the 2016 National Championships in Vaughan, Ontario after they capped off an undefeated league and playoff season by winning the 2016 MSA Cup. Indoor success also surrounded Anderson's youth career. His Bonivital u-17s captured the Cambrian Challenge Cup in 2016, winning both league and playoffs crowns.

Later that same year, Anderson was invited to participate in the Whitecaps Showcase with the Saskatchewan Whitecaps Development Program prior to the Whitecaps residency landing in Manitoba. Anderson plans to compete with Britannia Soccer Club in the Manitoba Major Soccer League this summer.

The 2018 MCAC Men's Soccer schedule is yet to be officially released but confirmed to date is the annual exhibition meetings between the Blazers and Thunder Bay Chill Reserves in Ontario, September 22nd and 23rd.
