2019-20 MCAC Men's Volleyball Regular Season Schedule Released
Big news out of the newest regional conference of the CCAA on Thursday, as the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference announced their expanded regular season Men's Volleyball schedule for 2019-20. Lengthened by four matches, the Blazers will begin their first of ten home matches on Wednesday, October 30th when they host the defending MCAC Champions, the Providence Pilots for a 6:00pm start.

October 30th
Excitement will be in full vibrancy right out of the gate for CMU who are scheduled to play host the team that upset the top-ranked Blazers in the 2019 MCAC Men's Volleyball Championship, in the Providence Pilots. Historically, one of the best amateur sports rivalries in central Canada, matches between CMU and Providence extend to five-sets as a regular occurance and though October 30th will only be their first of five meetings this season, fans can expect both teams to be giving everything they have to start the season off with a win.
January 3rd-4th
CMU wills start the new year in Welland, Ontario where they dive into Niagara Falls action against the OCAA's best Men's Volleyball programs. The Blazers landed fifth of eight teams competing at Niagara College in 2019 with a record of 3-1 but hope to improve on their start in 2020 to vault the MCAC representatives into a top-half finish. The Blazers will also compete in non-conference tournament action in Oshawa in the 2019-20 preseason as part of their probationary membership commitments to the CCAA.
February 14th
Where will the Red River Rebels land in 2019-20? The one-time MCAC powerhouse have floundered for the past few conference seasons but their improved competitiveness last season combined with the recent introduction of former Team Canada player and long-time european professional, Chris Voth, should have the Rebels pushing for a place in the Final Four. There will be no love lost when the Blazers host the Rebels on Valentine's Day in their final meeting of five with their cross-city rivals.
FIRST SERVE TIMES
The men take the court first in the 2019-20 MCAC Men's Volleyball schedule as part of a conference-wide intiative that will see the traditional gendered start times flipped. For all weekday evening (including Friday) matches, first serve of Men's Volleyball is scheduled for 6:00pm. Saturday afternoon matches will see first serve at noon while the Blazers will play twice in 2020 on Sunday afternoon, with start times scheduled for 2:00pm.
