Women's Volleyball Scores An Ace With W.C. Miller Middle

CMU Athletics is very happy to welcome middle blocker Brooklyn Thiessen to the Women's Volleyball program. The 5'10 product of Altona's W.C. Miller Collegiate moved into the varsity program as a Grade 10 player to help the Aces at Provincials. Since that transition, Thiessen was voted her team's Most Valuable Player in Grade 11 and lifted her high school to a 2nd place finish in zones in 2019 and a berth in the MHSAA 'AAA' Girls Provincials.

"I am excited to see Brooklyn grow into her athletic potential at this competitive level," said CMU head coach Jayme Menzies. "She is already a very capable blocker with great court instincts and I see her developing into a very versatile member of this team."

Thiessen finished her club volleyball career with Dynamo Volleyball Club after beginning with Providence Athletics' Junior Pilots program. She also excelled in badminton, golf and soccer during her time at W.C. Miller.

CMU is scheduled to open their 2020-21 preseason in Red Deer, Alberta in late September with the MCAC regular season still marked to begin in mid-October.
